ScribeKey is a local voice-to-text tool. All transcription happens on your Mac. Your voice data is never uploaded to any server.
Data Collection
ScribeKey does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. We do not:
- Record or upload your voice
- Collect device identifiers or usage analytics
- Use third-party analytics or advertising services
Local Processing
Speech recognition is performed locally using the bundled Whisper model. Transcripts are copied to your system clipboard so you can paste them elsewhere. ScribeKey does not retain any transcript after it is copied.
Accessibility Permission
ScribeKey requires Accessibility permission to paste transcripts into the active text field when you trigger the global shortcut. This permission is used only for the paste action and is not used to read screen content or monitor your activity.
